Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor that transform ordinary men into near-invincible warriors.
Wars were fought for them, and won by them. One such war rages on the Shattered Plains. There, Kaladin has been reduced to slavery. In a war that makes no sense, where 10 armies fight separately against a single foe, he struggles to save his men and to fathom the leaders who consider them expendable. Brightlord Dalinar Kholin commands one of those other armies. Like his brother, the late king, he is fascinated by an ancient text called The Way of Kings. Troubled by visions of ancient times and the Knights Radiant, he has begun to doubt his own sanity.
Across the ocean, an untried young woman named Shallan seeks to train under an eminent scholar and notorious heretic, Dalinar's niece, Jasnah. Lewis B. Margroff R. Wheeler Robert E. Green S. After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war.
The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals, and potentially reveal the secrets of the ancient tower that was once the heart of their strength. At the same time that Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with his changing role within the Knights Radiant, his Windrunners face their own problem: As more and more deadly enemy Fused awaken to wage war, no more honorspren are willing to bond with humans to increase the number of Radiants.
But once you see how each of them relate, by the end I just knew I had to pick up the next book to see where this epic is going to go. This series left me begging for more! Though the universe the author creates is intoxicatingly foreign, the characters are easily relatable. Each echoes the same thought In a world where instant perfection is expected, this series highlights the importance of journey before destination.
I am eagerly awaiting the next installment! One of the most expansive and incredible stories I have ever read.
The end of each book pays off in spades. This series is absolutely worth your time. I tore through these three books and volume 2. The characters are interesting and the writing really makes you want to discover all the secrets the world of Roshar has to offer.

Thanks for pointing it out. Caprica55 14 Sep, am. Thanks for this mod! Could the orientation of the image for the player mat be altered rotated counter-clockwise 90 degrees , so it shows in the proper orientation when zoomed in Alt key? I checked the import image for the player mat object, and the 90 degree rotation will resolve the issue. Not a big deal but nice to have.
