It sounds like you pasted the link into the message rather than into the link box. I just did the same. For some reason its creating a new link and placing it in your message rather than, creating the actual hyperlink with its own url. Even my question for already subscribed users.

You need to add a subscription form to your website, or at the very least, a link to the MailChimp subscription page. But the directions will vary greatly depending on platform. So what they said that I would have to create a widget on the MailChimp site. Then, take a screenshot image of the widget. Afterwards, you can add the image to your sidebar in an Image Widget and link it to your MailChimp signup page.
So I just need to attach the file so it automatically gets sent to my subscribers inbox. Because right now I just tested it on my own email address and nothing is happening once I do subscribe. This would be a paid feature in most email services like ConvertKit or Mad Mimi. However, MailChimp now offers automations to all accounts. The other alternative is to give them one hefty PDF with all the info. Gretchen, your instructions were great.
